Terms of use and ladder rules

1. What this is
Barbados Women's Padel Ladder (the "Ladder") is a private, social padel ladder run by Stacey (the "Owner") for women playing padel in Barbados. This app helps members find games, book courts and keep a friendly ranking. By creating an account you agree to these terms and to the privacy notice. You must be 18 or over.
2. Ladder rules
- All games are one hour.
- Everyone arrives 10 minutes before the court time. The app's headline time is the arrival time; the court time is shown underneath. Two strikes in the same week (Saturday to Friday) and you will be removed from the ladder. A strike is being late to a game, not turning up, or, when you are the booker, not booking the court or not bringing the balls. Strikes start fresh every week.
- The player nominated to book the court books it and confirms in the app by 4pm. Each of the other three pays the booker BBD $25 for the court, on the day. Players check back then to see the court is booked. Any issues, contact the others on WhatsApp.
- The booker brings three new or nearly new padel balls.
- Need to hire a racquet? Arrive at least 15 minutes early so the game starts on time.
- Weeks run Saturday to Friday. Tell the app how many games a week you want and you will never be booked for more; when courts are short, players with no game that week come first.
- The app never builds a game for today, so you always have at least a day's notice. You can still join an open spot in a game today from Home, right up until the court time. If two or more of a four drop out, the game is cancelled.
- Play a game the app has built at the court it names. If the four decides to play somewhere else instead, the app cannot see it: the game is cancelled at the booking deadline and the booker gets a warning for not booking. If you want to play somewhere else, press "Can't make it" on the app's game first and arrange the other one yourselves, or record it under "Record a game we arranged ourselves" so the score still counts.
- Fours are built at 6am every day. If you are picked, confirm by 12 noon. At 12 noon anyone who has not confirmed is removed and someone else is invited. If you drop out later, press "Can't make it" so a stand-in can be found.
- Enter scores honestly. One of the four enters the score and it counts straight away; if it is wrong, anyone in the four can enter it again. If you swapped partners on the day, record the pairs that actually played.
- Be kind on and off court. Bad behaviour can be reported by any player and may lead to removal.
- The ladder owner (Stacey) may remove any player from the ladder at any time, at her sole discretion, without giving a reason.
Lateness, no-shows and missed booker duties (not booking the court, not bringing the balls) are recorded through the "Report a player" button. The first report gives a warning; a second from a different game removes the player automatically. Behaviour reports go to the Owner and the ladder admins.
3. Membership and removal
Membership is at the Owner's invitation and discretion. The Owner may suspend or remove any player at any time, with or without notice and without giving a reason. A removed player's account is closed and their data handled as described in the privacy notice. You can also leave at any time: see "Delete your account and data" in the privacy notice.
4. Courts, bookings and money
The app only reads court availability from Courtside (Holetown) and Paradise Padel Club (Haymans) and suggests games. It does not make bookings or take payment. Players book and pay the venue directly and are bound by the venue's own terms, cancellation policies and prices. Courts are often not refundable close to the start time, so please cancel as early as you can. The Owner is not a party to any booking and is not responsible for venue availability, cancellations or refunds.
5. Events, coaching and tournaments
The Events tab lists tournaments and coaching sessions run through our events site. Coaches are independent professionals, not employees or agents of the Owner. They set their own prices and are responsible for their own coaching. The Owner approves coaches to appear in the app but does not supervise or guarantee their sessions.
- Booking. A coaching session has a fixed number of spots. If it is full you join the waiting list and are moved up automatically if a place opens. Only ladder members can book.
- Paying. The coaching fee is paid to the coach directly, in cash, on the day. The court fee is shared evenly between the players and paid as the session shows (usually to the player picked to book the court). The shares shown in the app are an equal split for the number of spots and are a guide; the coach and venue's final charges apply.
- The court booker. When a session fills, one of the players is picked at random to book the court by the time shown. If you are picked and cannot do it, tell the coach and the other players straight away.
- Cancelling. Please cancel as early as you can so someone on the waiting list can take your place. The court may not be refundable close to the start time, so a late cancellation can leave the other players with a cost; the venue's policy decides.
- If a coach cancels. The coach or the Owner may cancel a session at any time. We tell booked players by notification and email, but cannot guarantee delivery, so check the Events tab if in doubt. If a court had been booked, the court booker should cancel it with the venue.
- Tournaments. Tournaments may have their own entry rules and a waiver you agree to when you sign up. The organiser may change the format, schedule or results where needed.
6. Notifications
If you switch notifications on, the app will send phone notifications and emails about your games and bookings. They are a convenience and can arrive late or not at all (for example if your phone is off, has no signal or has notifications blocked). They never replace checking the app for your games and deadlines.
7. Playing at your own risk
Padel is a physical sport. You take part at your own risk and are responsible for your own fitness, equipment and insurance. To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of Barbados, the Owner accepts no liability for injury, loss or damage arising from games, coaching sessions or tournaments arranged through the app, except where caused by the Owner's own negligence and such liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Your account
Keep your passcode private and give accurate details, including an honest skill level. One account per person. You are responsible for what is done through your account. Do not use the app to harass anyone or to share other members' details outside the Ladder.
9. The app itself
The app is provided free and "as is". It may be unavailable, changed or withdrawn at any time. Ratings, rankings and match suggestions are automated and may contain errors; the Owner may correct them.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Barbados and the courts of Barbados have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions: hello@barbadoswomenpadel.com.
